Can not access shared folders on WS2K3 after some hours

By iraklissifakis ·
Hi everyone! So i moved some files that some ppl in the network use from an old server to a new one, shared the folder, created the users and gave the permissions. All works fine, the users can access the files. At the next morning i get a phone call that no one of them can access the shared files. I do a remote on the server and all seems fine. After a restart all users can access the files again. 8-10 hours the same problem appears again and i have to make a restart again.

Anyone has any idea on that problem. I would really appreciate it.

Idle connections

by shasca In reply to Can not access shared fol ...

To turn off the autodisconnect feature, open a command prompt, type the following line, and press ENTER:

net config server /autodisconnect:-1

or

in the command prompt type: net config server /autodisconnect:VALUE (minutes) (any number from -1 to disable to 65536). ex.
net config server /autodisconnect:30 (so after 30 minutes it will be disconnected).
