I’d need the full model number to research what newer version might be out there.

Make a new reply with the full model number so we can find out what is available. As to the latest Android my answer would be no.

I seriously doubt that you can update it to a current version of Android as the original product was released in 2015 and was running Android 4.4. You can read more about it here: https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_tab_e_9_6-7295.php

I am using a Samsung Tab S7+ and I have the latest version of Android, but I imagine I might get 1 more Android update but not certain.

The tablet you have might be able to be updated manually, but there are no guarantees that it would be compatible due to the current specifications/hardware. You would be better off getting a newer tablet instead. I think that my current tablet that was released in 2020 is being sold for about $400 and is still a recommended tablet on some review sites, even though it is about 3 years old.

I understand that you have an older Samsung Galaxy Tab E and you’re wondering if it’s possible to update it to a newer version of Android. The Galaxy Tab E was originally released with Android 4.4 KitKat, and Samsung has not officially provided updates beyond Android 7.1.1 Nougat for this device.

However, there is a potential solution you can explore. Some tech-savvy users in the Android community have developed custom ROMs, which are unofficial firmware versions based on newer Android releases. These custom ROMs allow you to install a newer version of Android on your device, but it’s important to note that this process requires technical knowledge and may void your warranty. Keep in mind that not all devices have custom ROMs available, and compatibility can vary.

If you’re interested in exploring custom ROMs, I recommend doing thorough research and finding a reliable source that provides instructions specific to your tablet model. It’s also essential to proceed with caution and make sure you have a backup of your data before attempting any modifications.

If you’re not comfortable with custom ROMs or if they’re not available for your tablet, it’s best to stick with the officially supported Android version provided by Samsung. Although you may not have access to the latest Android features, you can still use your tablet for various tasks and applications.

Still might be a way to Android 12.1 circa 2022.

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the Samsung Galaxy Tab E runs on Android operating system and is capable of receiving software updates. However, the availability of updates and the latest Android version for your specific device can vary based on several factors, including the device model, region, carrier, and the manufacturer’s update policies.

Samsung typically provides software updates for their devices, including security patches and new Android versions, for a certain period of time after the device’s release. However, older devices may not receive updates for the latest Android versions indefinitely, as the manufacturer tends to prioritize newer models.

To check if an update is available for your Samsung Galaxy Tab E, follow these steps:

Go to the “Settings” menu on your tablet.
Scroll down and tap on “Software Update” or “About Device.”
Look for the option “Check for Updates” or a similar phrase.
Tap on it to check if any updates are available for your device.
If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.
If no updates are available through the device’s settings menu, it is possible that Samsung has stopped providing updates for your specific tablet model.

Alternatively, you can visit the Samsung website or contact Samsung customer support to inquire about the availability of updates for your Galaxy Tab E model and whether it can be updated to the latest Android version.

Please note that the information provided is based on general knowledge, and it is always recommended to consult official sources or reach out to the manufacturer for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding software updates for your specific device.
