Can view mapped drive on network but can’t ping mapped drive’s pc. I don’t get it. An eight station windows xp peer to peer network on which one workstation is designated as the ‘server’. All other workstations have mapped drives to the ‘server’ Mapped drives works fine but I cannot ping ‘server’ or anyother workstation from any workstation. I can ping the router though. What is stopping the ping? I have shut down the server’s firewall and stopped the antivirus scanner to try all this with no success. What am I not seeing???
