Cannot Access a VPN behind a router using Cisco VPN Client

By andrechandoo ·
Hi,
I am trying to access a VPN using Cisco VPN Client. I get a prompt asking me for my password, I enter it correctly, but still, I get a 413 error, Authentication. I was told that my username and password is correct and to try using a dialup connection to get access.
Can anyone help?

I had a similar problem. In my situation I was using VPN to connect to a Windows 2003 Server at another site. Sometimes I could get the VPN to connect but when it did it still wouldn't allow me access to the files on the server. It turns out that the server did not recognize the username I used to access the local machine. I was loggin into my machine using a local user account, which has a different user name than on the domain. So entering my account username and password at the VPN stage only gave me access to the VPN but not to the server. I fixed it by changing the username on the local machine to match the username on the server. You could also try creating a username on the server with the name on the local machine.
