I run a computer lab in school in which we just installed a wireless connection. I am new to this job and have little networking experience.
My problem is the following; I can connect to my wireless router when i am logged in as an administrator. However, when I log in, on the same computer, as a user I am unable to connect, and get an icon on the task bar of a computer with an “X” through it. When I click on that icon I get an error message stating “network cable is unplugged”. When I checked the enable Internet Connection Sharing in Local Area Connection box, an error message “An error occurred…. Internet Sharing cannot be enabled…”.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to no avail.
Could someone please tell me what I need to do to enable a user to be able to connect to the internet.
The OS being used is Windows 2000 Professional.
