i have different scsi-scanners. microtek E6, Agfa Arcus, 2 hp scanjet IIc and IIcx. i tried out the microtek and agfa. i tried out scsi-isa-card ms-pnr(microtek) with E6 and ARCUS without success. installed scansoftware plus image-program(irfanview), scanner and ms-pnr-scsi-controller. in device-manager no error are reported.
i checked the irqs. e6 says irq 10 is default but it is not free. irq 9 is free. in bios-cmos-setup i changed pci-iq-pnp to legal isa. both settings did not work. scanner test says it is not connected. i have the similar cables, one with a terminater-piece(can be detached). i tried out both cables with and without terminator. the scanner is the only scsi-source. i have a second isa-scsi-card from a friend: hp scanjet with the same chip (ncr53c400a) but did not try it out. should i manually exchange the irq 10 settings to irq9 and use no 10 for the scanner? on the the scanners there are settings from 0 to 9. i could not find manuals. only for cash.i urgently need the arcus because of the slide/film-scanner. i have socket 7-board with p200mmx,128 mb ram, 2 gb hd, winme. no problems reported from nsystemworks.
