Cannot move user object to new group

By ms7212 ·
I have finally gotten around to making groups in my 2000 AD. I want to move users into these new groups I created. When I try to move the user object I get the following error: "object cannot be added because the parent is not on the list of possible superiors." I have searched this issue, but am having problems finding a solution. Thanks in advance!

Check to see if the event log generated any errors on your domain controller. I would start there.

You made "user groups" or/and "ou -organizational units.

You want to move an user from an ou to other ou?
You can use the default OUs or create your own OUs. To move a user from a default OU to a new one should not be a problem.

or

You want to move a user from a group of users to other group of users?
Edit user's properties an in "Member of" tab you can add/remove the groups.
