Can’t access a local website with IP #, but have no problem with FDQN

by fmontero . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

Hi everyone,

I set up a test website in my local network on a Windows 2000 server and IIS 5. The web site is running perfectly and I can access it from the browser by typing the FDQN. But when I use the IP address of the server I get Page not found (IE)or No web site is configured at this address (firefox).

When I ping the FDQN, it resolves to the server’s IP.

Can’t figure this on out.

HELP

Thanks

Fernando
