can't connect remotely

By llacerda ·
I just had a Win2003 R2 server installed at work. I want to be able to connect remotely from home. The IT guys have checked all necessary settings and can't find anything wrong. I have Bellsouth DSL at work and Cable at home. I bypassed the router that didn't work. I had the lines checked by Bellsouth and they replaced the modem. That didn't help. I've tried from different locations no good. I can connect to other networks no problem. I can connect 1 out of 25 times from home. My boss can't connect at all and she has DSL. We are out of ideas. The Bellsouth tech said maybe we aren't connecting because the primary DNS is different from DSL to Cable. Does that sound right when I have been able to connect a few times? Would a slow connection with DSL at work effect remote connection? Thanks, Lori
