How or what are you doing to open up the ports on your router?
the same router and to open a port to 3874 I had to put the information into 2 or 3 places.

Another thing you can try is to enable DMZ on your router so you can test the connection to your VPN. This will open up all the ports on your router. If you still cannot connect or still freeze up with this open than it may be a problem on the PC and not the router. Remember to Disable DMZ after you do your test.

Let me know the results...I have a solution that I had to use to get my VPN working but I was able to connect but would kick me off after about a Minute or so. If the above doesnt work we may try this other solution.

The linksys router has a PPTP passthrough that you need to enable as well as fowarding ports 1723 to the server.

Ok what I di to get mine to work was add a line into the register telling it to not check to see is the Router tables have been updated.

HKEY local\System\current Control\services\tcpip\Parameters\

Create a new DWORD entry and call it "Perform Router Discovery" Value should be set to zero.

With this added Win Xp no longer gave me the error and wouldnt kick me off.

Hi,

I am a novice at VPN configuration. I read this post, and have same problem here. I have same router. Did you manage to get this resolved? If so, can you provide some help? Thank you.
