Can't see CDROM

By jewelfordscott ·
I am unable to access the CDROM of a PC I am working on. The system is run by Windows 98SE, and the device manager states that the best drivers are already loaded on the hard drive. I am unable to run set up on the system because Windows is freezingand I can only access the system in safe mode. Your help will be appreciated.

Can't see CDROM

Unfortunatly, the quickest way to fix this is probably to boot the PC on a Win98SE start up floppy disk and run setup.exe on the Win98SE CD.
The CDROM drivers on the floppy disk will work with almost all CDROM drives except the pre IDE CDROMs such as the SONY33A.
