Cat-5e RG6 wirering...

By CarlosEBernal_ ·
I am an unemployed and disabled IT professional that has installed several home networks (wired & wi-fi) for family and friends recently. A friend has asked me to install all of the Telco, RG6, Cat-5e in his new home under construction, in addition to wi-fi networking. As in anything I have done in my life, I take pride of doing a professional job regardless of compensation. He has offered to pay me for the work and materials.

Where are the best sources in Los Angeles, Ca. to buy wire, panels, racks, parts, tools, etc. to do such job? I have seen cat-5e/RG6 wires that are bundled together, where could I get this type of wire? Also, I would like to know how to price the work and where to get additional information about doing such installations.

For me, this would be a good opportunity to know if I should pursue this line of work as a profession.

Sincerely,
CarlosEBernal_@hotmail.com

In addition to Graybar, look for AllTel. They are another nationwide chain of telecom suppliers with competitive prices for materials and equipment.

I would try www.blackbox.com They seem to have good prices. They also have lots of good information on wiring and such.

Fin da business interconnect

They will set you up with bulk cable, RJ4 connectors, you can crimp you rown cords to length that way, and patch panels at close to cost They buy direct in massive volume and not from the manufacturer's distributors.

Computer cable providers are generally really expensive when compared to telcos and interconnects for such things.
