Hey there all!
I am relatively new to the IT world. I am currently an Help-Desk Analyst for Ajilon Consulting.
While I do not possess any certifications, I do have a home network which includes a Windows 2003 AD/DNS/File/Print Server as well as an ISA 2004 SP2 Firewall/Router/VPN GW
I’ve been working with networks and computers for the past few years, which starting as a hobby for me in grade school. I am only 18 years old :$
I wish to get certified and want to start with a CCENT certification. I had considered CompTIA’s Network+ but could not stay awake or concentrated through the material as it was so terribly boring.
I am wondering about whether working towards taking the 640-802 exam (CCNA) or getting both the ICND 1 + 2 (640-822+640-816)
Currently, I have the Cisco Press Certification Library (two books; one covering each exam) as well as the CBT Nuggets Videos for 640-822 and 640-816
I love Jeremy’s style and passion for technology. He isnpires me when I want to become lazy and just give up. I know the “cheapest” route is the one exam, yet the 802 was designed more for those who already have the CCNA and wish only to renew it.
I also am aware that no other person can make the choice for me, but I am seeking some advice and hopefully wisdom from those of you fortunately to have it already. Lucky 😛
Thank you for reading this and any recommendations or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Darin Luckie
