CD Burner

By Chester Peterson ·
I have a Liteon Cd burner 32x12x40 on Win 98, but when I burn, the maximum it lets me burn is 24x (should be 32x)
Any ideas

I am not sure which cd burner software you are using but, some will carry out tests to determine data transfer rates that your cd/dvd reader and hard disk will maintain. It is possible that if this is the case then the software could be limiting the maximum burn speed due to your hard disk or dvd/cd reader not being able to transfer the data quickly enough to carry out cd burning at 32X. This is testing seems to be carried out to minimize the number of cd coasters we end up with. The limitation could also be due to other resource limitations like a slow ide controller, miminal cpu, or low memory resources.

The burn speed also depends on your blank CD-R/RW
disc.

Check out the burning speed.
