I have an oem CD DVD ROM drive by Toshiba Model SD-M1202 that came with my Dell. Currently it is a designated drive (F:\), but it fails to work, in fact it has the door/tray open all the time with no real way of keeping it closed accept by opening up the case and physically disonnecting the power.
According to Dell, I find that it is a plug n play device without a driver persae and have not been able to locate any suitable or workable diagnostics on this device. Has anyone out there ever come across with similar problem, and any possible solution aside from replacing the drive.
