CD player error

By derry_doubt2 ·
Every time I insert a CD, DVD or CD-ROM, my computer crashes with a bluescreen error. It seemed to start after I attempted to install media player 9, to upgrade the ability of my computer, since then I have uninstalled it, but I am still getting the same response

Try disabling Autorun. Go to this page and read up on how to modify the Registry to turn Autorun off:

If the above suggestion does not work, I would try to delete the optical drive from Device Manager (Control Panel-->system--> device manager) and then reinstall it. This may fix a driver fault.....

You just need to change a value in the registry:

1. Run the regedit.exe
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AudioCD\shell\play\command
3. Change the default value to
%SystemRoot%\system32\cdplayer.exe /play %1

Good luck.
