CD-ROM not detected

By ameetpv ·
My working Cd-Rom dissapeared from My Computer after I mistakenly installed different chipset driver. the chipset displayed is being shown as none. How do I rectify the problem using a floppy disk as I am unable to use the CDrom drive.

First of all you check that it is detecting in bios setup or not. if not so you have to check the data cable and cd rom on different machine. if yes, so chek with device manager if it showing as conflicted device then un-install it and restart the machine again.
you should chek that mscdex.exe file and its path is available in computer or not.

1. Delete ALL chip-set related devices in Device Manager, and re-boot.
(This includes the IDE controller, AGP port and most other devices. Click on view by connection, and remove devices that are part of the system board.)
Windows should find and install the correct drivers.

2. Some chip-set drivers will fit on a floppy, download and install the correct driver.

3. Use a ZIP program to span a large file across several floppies.

4. If you can access the internet with the PC, download and install the correct drivers.
