CDrom not working
I have a new 2.4 celeron machine. I install my old H/D, CDrom and a new CDwriter. In “My Computer it shows the CDrom And writer. When I place a CD in the player nothing happens. When I click on the drive in “my computer the computer freeze and I had to reset.
I put the CDrom back in my old computer AMD 333 and it work without a problem. Now what is the problem it won’t work in the new machine. I unplug the writer and plug on the same cable the CDrom without success.

Answer 1:
You need to make sure the jumpers on the back of the drives are set proprly. There will be a little jumper clip that you can change from Master, Slave or Cable select on the back of the drive. You will need to look close to see the markings on the drive MA, SL, CS respectively.
Make sure one is Master and one is SLAVE, I usually set CDRW as primary.
OR ;Try using a different ribbon cable for each drive, MUCH easier.
I have try the above. No go.
