I have an existing generic IDE CDrom drive set as slave on the primary IDE channel (HDD is the master).
I’ve installed a new Sony CDRW on the secondary IDE channel as the master (nothing configured for the slave on this channel)
The new Sony driveworks fine but the original CD drive now has problems in that it reads normal data CD’s as being audio discs with tracks on them!
Also when trying to play audio tracks on it it skips on them and resets to the start.
The OS running is Win 95.
Any ideas on the generic drive? Is it possible its faulty and I need a new one?
