I am installing & upgrading a number of servers, to prevent downtime for users I have copied their data, security, etc to another server and wish to use DFS so I may move their data from server to upgraded server transparently – however, when I tried to change the folder path of users in the trial user group it will not let me save a DFS path \\DFS Name\Share Name\Folder Name as it believes the correct path must be \\server name\share name\folder name.
The users are in a Windows 2000 AD domain.
Is there any way around this – I need to amend my trial group, individually, for the testing phase of the change management (sigh)
Any ideas, suggestions or work arounds would be very gratefully received. Thanks 🙂
