Changing subnet on Cisco 3550 switch

By zennx ·
I have a Cisco 3550 switch that has about 10 hosts connected to it. The hosts have ip addresses that range from My boss says a networking guy usually comes in and configures the ports (some how?) to only allow a certain address to be in that port. He wants it to be able to move around any of the hosts to any port. So basically he wants the ports to see 10.37.x.x instead of 10.37.1.x or 10.37.105.x. From my understanding switches don't deal with IP addresses and I can't see anyway to do it. Even if there was a way the router (which I don't have access to) is running EIGRP. Wouldn't the configuration for that need to be changed also? Is there some sort of port security or configuration I can run on this switch to allow it to see 10.37.x.x addresses? Thanks
