Morning, I am primarily a hardware geek and in the realms of programming I am a little lost! I would like to create a chat room from scratch. Presumably I would need a server to host the website and maybe another for the data and get my ISP to host it… But what I want to know is.. how the heck do I create the actual chat room? I can create basic HTML pages but a chat room is a little beyond me… can anyone suggest where to go from here? Do i need to learn Java or something else to be able to create one? Help!
