I’m taking a Network + class to get my cert, and I had trouble with Class B subnetting. It’s a whole worksheet, and I’m hoping I can get it all to fit here. I think that I understand what’s going on, but I would like to be sure that what I’m doing is right.
this is my filled out worksheet:

What is the default Class B mask? 255.255.0.0

What is the subnet mask with 19 bits? 255.255.224.0

How many possible subnets? 8

How many usable hosts on each subnet? 8,190

What is the network address of subnet #5(Starting with Subnet #0 as the zero subnet)? 152.3.160.0

What is the broadcast address of subnet #5? 152.3.1**.255

What is the range of available host addresses for subnet #5? 152.3.160.1 – 152.3.1**.254

What is the broadcast address of subnet #7? 152.3.255.255

I turn to subnet calculators. I haven’t found the need to do this manually for decades.

But let’s say you want tutorials. Google “IP Subnet Tutorials”.
