Clearing the Bios

You will have to look up the model number of your motherboard at the manufacturer's web site, and see if there is an updated bios available. If there is, you can download the flash bios to a floppy disk, boot the computer with the disk, and follow the on screen menu to upgrade the bios.

Be very careful however to ensure that the board you are flashing is capable of accepting the flash. It is extremely difficult to backtrack and recover if you inadvertently flash the bios with a version it cannot accept.

Is there a specific reason to want to flash the bios? If it's a specific hardware compatibility issue, most manufacturers provide a fix without resorting to replacing the bios.
