Cloning Laptops

By williamoshea ·
Hi Colleagues,
Does anyone know how I can clone an IBM thinkpad 570 running windows 2000. I have tried using Norton Ghost 2002, but it keeps telling me it cannot detect a host to host usb connection.
Does anyone know what else i can use or what i am doing wrong?

Search online and get yourself a laptop hard drive adapter. - 3-5 dollars... They may have one in your local Compusa or other store but for like 10-20 dollars.

Basically, with this adapter, you can slave a laptop hard drive off to the ide cable in a desktop pc. Boot with ghost, make an image from the laptop to the desktop hard drive. Shut down, remove laptop from desktop, boot up desktop, burn an image of that ghost file for future use.

Good luck

You need a cross connect cable to connect a computer to computer interface (I.E. One computers transmit signal is the othe computers receive) most manufactures color the cables yellow to easilly identify them. You can get them at any reputable computer store.
