CMOS Checksum Bad

by gamnet . Updated 23 years, 2 months ago

Hi all!I’m receiving an error message “CMOS Checksum Bad Press f1 to run setup” when i start up my pc.

Thinking that the CMOS battery’s flat,i changed it but upon reboot i receive the same message.Even changing to default/optimal settings then saved and exit the CMOS SETUP yield negative response.

Also i can hear 2 and 1 short beeps(in that order)before the error message shows again.I’ve checked AMI BIOS codes/error messages list plus it’s version but the ‘solutions’ confuses me even more!

If anyone could make sense of this fatal error(?), describing me the right step by step solutions would be much appreciated.Thanks.

My pc: Pentium MMX 150MHZ;AMIBIOS Release 01/10/2000S
