This is TheChas, I have answered a few of your questions today.
I came across your DSL filter question after it was closed, and have a comment for you.
I purchased from a seller on e-bay a very good DSL / POTS splitter for my DSL connection.
I installed the splitter where the phone line enters the building.
An advantage of setting things up this way, is that you isolate the rest of your phone wireing from the DSL signal.
A problem with a telephone or it’s wires will not affect your DSL connection.
Should you need to add a phone, you will not need to get an additional filter for each new phone.
As a side note: you might consider leaving your questions open for a longer period of time. That way, you may get a few more answers.
In particular, the DSL filter, and the support links questions may have gotten several answers if they had been left open longer.
