See another recent discussion about this subject in https://www.techrepublic.com/forums/discussions/artificial-intelligence-vs-data-science/

My advice: follow an introductory course for both subjects and see what you like most doing the rest of your life.

An interesting thought came to mind. If you choose AI and are good enough, your product could wind up replacing you in the long run. Can you say “SkyNet” ?

Data Science and AI (Artificial Intelligence) are related but distinct fields with different goals and methods.
Data Science involves extracting insights and knowledge from data using various techniques such as statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization. Data science aims to turn raw data into actionable insights to support decision-making and drive business value.
Conversely, AI is the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think and learn like humans. AI systems can be designed to perform a wide range of tasks, from simple rule-based processes to complex decision-making.
While data science and AI share some similarities, they have different goals and methodologies. Data science is focused on extracting insights and knowledge from data, while AI is focused on simulating human intelligence in machines. In many cases, AI systems are built using techniques from data science, such as machine learning, to enable them to learn from data and improve their performance over time.
Overall, data science and AI are different but related fields. Data science is a subset of AI, providing the data and methods that enable AI to learn and make decisions.

      Hello this is Gulshan Negi
Well, both Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science are rapidly growing fields with great potential for career growth and high salaries. However, there are some differences in terms of the skills required and the types of jobs available in each field.
Well, I see this post https://www.techgeekbuzz.com/blog/data-science-vs-ai/ where Author published detailed comparison in both of them.
However the decision choosing your career in between AI and Data Science depends on your personal interests, skills, and career goals.
      Hope it will help.
      Thanks
