Computer & Info Science or Info Systems

By patel5 ·
Hi
I am currently a student at CSU (Cleveland State Univercity). I am studying for a Bachelors degree in a computer science field. But CSU offers a couple of different options in the computer science field, which are (CIS - Computer & Information Science) and (IS - Information Systems). I am having trouble deciding on which degree I should go for. Information Systems degree is offerd as a concentration of a BBA degree. While CIS is independent and is considered a science degree. Can some one Please tell me which one of these degrees is better for the long term.

Thanks.
Mukesh

Your Right to "Choose"

by Clinton Goveas In reply to Computer & Info Science o ...

I would advise you to make this choice on your own and not let someone else make this decision for you. The right to "choose" is one of the only real rights an individual has.

There is a reasoning for this. Others will not care about what you become when they advise you as it does not concern their interests. You could end up getting the wrong advice.

Talk to people amongst the faculties of the institution where you study, industry savvy members of your family, friend circle, etc.. These are people with a vested interest in your success. You will get better and more thoughtful advice there. However, remember to choose yourself and be responsible!

Look at the requirements of each

Look at the detailed requirements of each and decide which better suits what you want to do.
