Configure terminal services in BDC of win2k3 server

By pthyag ·
I have PDC and BDC win2k3 Ent Edition servers, i have maximum of 20 users to be connected thru terminal services. Can i configure terminal services on BDC instead of deploying separate server for terminal services. And all the 20 users are not concurrent users.

I will be thankful for immediate response.

You "can" ...

but it is absolutely not recommended for reasons of security.

a) To log onto a term server, users must be granted the 'log on locally' right to term server, which in your case would also be a domain controller. This would allow any of the TS users access to any domain controller.
b) if the server will be exposed to the internet for users to access from outside your company, then your AD is exposed.

If you choose to proceed, nothing will stop you from configuring one of your DC's as a terminal server in application mode -- unless you're using SBS -- though you will have to manually change some policies/permissions. Here's a pertinent article, even though it states W2000:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306626

Another option, if you can't get management to spring for another server hardware to run your term server in application mode separately, may be to run your TS as a Virtual Server on your second DC (PDC/BDC no longer used for about 8 years).
