Connect PC to PC

Hi,
I have two PC’s

First one PC.A, has two NIC’s, NIC.A1 is connecting to company LAN and to the internet, NIC.A2 is connecting with cross-cable to PC.B, which has NIC.B1.

Could you give me some instruction, how to connect right?

So far, I can ping from PC.B both NIC’s in PC.A, but from PC.A I cann’t ping PC.B.

can you explain why are you trying to connect two PC’s directly?

On PC.A is Win2000 sp4, on PC.B is XP sp3.

No Server?

It is my understanding that you can not utilize the full capabilities of two NICs without having Server software. So, pinging PC.B would be impossible since the pinger would be going out over the company LAN.

You need a switch/router/hub, depending on how PC.A is getting to the LAN, to connect both PCs to. Then, remove the 2nd NIC in PC.A.
