By ivo1404 ·
Hello
I'm trying to Connect to the internet and Local Area Network with switch but if a want to use internet I have to use automatic IP address but then I cannot see my network computers, if I enter IP address manually i can see my network computers but then a cannot access the internet. The switch is SMC-EZ6508TX, and the DSL modem Motorola SB5101E.

the internet and LAN are on different IP segments.

If your computer is getting its IP from the DSL modem, then it may not get the same IP range of your other LAN computers. Therefore, it wouldn't talk to them since they are different subnets.

It doesn't look like your Switch has DHCP. I'd think if you configured your LAN computers to have the same IP address range as what the DSL modem is issuing to your internet computer, they could talk and the PC could then talk to the DSL modem for internet connectivity.

If you are accessing the internet WHY would you have any need to see your network at the same time?
