connecting devices to UPS

hi. Last summer, I had a job upgrading servers. I was told to always connect servers to the UPS. I did notice the other equipment in the rack, The Switches, router, modems, Poe connectors etc. I just connected the server to the switches, but I didn’t install them or anything else. I didn’t really look but it got me thinking. When a person installs switches routers, modems etc. Should they be connected to a UPS also?

Here I put our modem, router and switch on UPS since we’re mostly laptops so when the power goes down, the network in most cases stays up.

This is either a business or personal design decision.
