Connecting to home network remotely

By niteshade.hassan ·
Hi there,

I'd like to know how to connect to my home network remotely. I'm a University student, and I want to check on my router back at home. I know the IP address of the router (I haven't paid for a static one, I just did an IP check when I was at home) and I got an IP address. I used it at home and it worked. I tried it from Uni and it won't load. Why not? Is there something I'm missing?

ARE YOU ON THE SAME NETWORK

Are you on the samenetwork as your university? There is a possibilty that you might be linked through another router and thus you will need to get the I.P addresses of the other routers and configure them to allow your P.C on the other networks.
