clone your computer MAC address to your router

by CG IT In reply to connecting wireless route ...

if you hooked up your computer directly to your ISP via their modem [not router] then your ISP, in 99.9% of the time registered your computer's MAC address to their system. That means only that MAC address can connect to their system. So you have to clone your computers MAC address to your router. Your Linksys router's manual and the router's help has instructions on how to clone a MAC address

Using a CAT Cable connect to the Modem and set it up

by OH Smeg In reply to connecting wireless route ...

When the Modem is working disconnect the computer from the modem and plug the CAT Cable into the Uplink port of the WiFi Router.

Then using another CAT Cable between the Router and computer enter the Routers Setup and set it to work correctly and enter your Security protocols.

When this is finished restart the Router as required disconnect the CAT Cable and setup the WiFi link on your computer with the same Security protocols and PassPhrase that was used in the WiFi Router.
