Connection to server disconnects

By marc_campbell ·
Hi there

I have a routed network with three remote sites and a central sites. There is a windows 2K network (1 MAIL server, 1 File server and 1 ISA Server) and various XP, 2000, and 98 machines. I am having a problem on our new remote site.

I can connect to all the servers. However, when attempting to map a drive on the ISA Server it asks for authorisation and then times out. I don't have the same problem on the file or mail server. We have a 2mb data communications link however our servers are about 3-4 years old. Additionaly, when users are using outlook 2003 it sporadically disconnects from the MAIL server as if there was a bottle neck. On the remote site all the machines feed back to a switch and then a router and connect to the main hub site. The router provides the DHCP settings.

On the other remote sites we can connect fine and the same hardware is used as in the new centre.

I suspected that it was something to do with the ISA server settings.
