copying over a remote desktop connection

Hi All
How can I copy files over a remote desktop connection.I am connecting from One Server to the other but when I copy and paste.Am getting an error message "cannot read from source file or disk.

You can't copy over the Remote connection. From computer where you are connected run the Windows Explorer and navigate to other server (for example \\server01\C$) go to desired folder and you can copy what you want. This is work if you are logged in Administrator.

What you can do is when you start the Remote Desktop connection click on options, then click the local resources tab and check the Disk Drives option, then connect. You will see your local drives and the servers local drives in windows explorer. You will be able to copy between them.

Thanks for the info. I can't believe how many posts out there are saying that it can't be done. A very simple and logical solution, and yet, how come it's not a public domain knowledge?

Hi Wellmax,

Try This it worked for me.

go to Terminal Services Configuration->Connections then select RDP-Tcp on the righthand side then select the Properties, then go to the client settings tab and de-select the option "drive mapping".

the de-select tab is greyed out and cannot be change
