copying user profiles to a new networked machine on the same domain?

By davyoo ·
Hi Guys

I have copied a user profile from an old pc to a new pc(c:\users\username\document and settings) on the same domain.(roaming profiles not configured) the user still has to log onto the new pc. will she get the copied profile settings(ie favourites, desktop etc) when she logs onto the new pc for the first time? or will i have to do something different? (rename the copied profile with a .old prefix) etc etc?

Thanks in advance
David

Hi,
you say roaming profiles is off, , and you copied a local Profile of a user up to a server, then you plan on haveing the user log into the new computer , If thats true, then you will need to manually copy the data fromt he old profile into the new doamin profile. (ie documents , and other files)
