Lee my motherboard is a Epox 8K9A with an AMD
XP 2100+ with 512MB PC2100 DDR RAM.Hopefully you can help me out a bit more

The Athlon XP series CPUs are "performance rated".
That is, the actual clock speed is lower than the "rated" speed.

Check the latest version of AMDs data sheet for the exact specifications for your XP2100

With PC2100 DDR, you will need to setthe FSB at 200MHz, and the multiplier as needed to reach the actual clock speed for your CPU.

Epox may have a BIOS update that corrects any CPU speed setting errors if the board is older than the XP-2100.
