Question

computer crashing while loading games, error code "memory management"

By JasonMaag ·
I recently built a new computer, and at first, everything ran correctly. But then when trying to play games a few days later, I crashed and got the error code "memory management." I ran the windows memory test thing, which was inconclusive, but the crashing still occurred. I then stepped it up and ran memtest86, which force closed due to like 15,000 errors. Is there any way I can fix this, or is my ram just defective? Browsing the internet and doing basic tasks still work, but not games. If memory is the problem, plz recommend me ram that is guaranteed to work, and around the $100 range, bc i blew all my money building this lol.

Computer specs:
Ryzen 5 2600
Asrock b450m Pro4
G Skill Aeigs 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3000mhz
Rx 580 8GB
EVGA 600W 80+ bronze
Seagate Barracude 2TB HDD

Sounds like a Timing Issue with the different RAM Modules

by OH Smeg In reply to computer crashing while l ...

Provided that they are installed correctly on the M'Board and are in Dual Channel Mode it is that the RAM Modules are not a Matched Pair so I would suggest fitting a Matched Pair of RAM Modules to overcome this issue.

If they are a Matched Pair I would look at the M'Board being the issue here and needing to be replaced.
