You need to connect configure the setup here

If the Modem is working and you do not need to share data between the Wireless and any Wired LAN that are in place then it's just a matter of setting the Range Extender where it is required and then connecting through that.

If the Router is not currently configured you need to configure that first with a Computer wired to it through a CAT Cable tot he Network Port on the computer.

You run the Setup Procedure on the Router as per the Instruction Manual and here you should change the Default User Name & Password to the Setup Options or just what the Router supports changing they will always be the Password but sometimes not the User Name. You should also change whatever Security Key is the Default as well and save the changes before restarting the router thought he setup procedure. Then setup the WiFi USB Dongle and make sure that you have a working Internet Connection not just a Internal LAN Connection. When this is working you setup the Range Extender where it's needed as per the Instruction Manual and then move the computer to where you want to use it.
