Does anyone know what a process called dadstray is and where it comes from? I have a user who has this process on his laptop and it is causing all sorts of havoc with file saves, and network saves. It is using 99% of the cpu usage, when observed in windows 2000. When I end the process the laptop functions perfectly, but with it, most office apps freeze on the save action.

Never heard of it, but have you tried doing a search for that file? It will show you which directory it is in and it may be a directory to a program you know of (or not).

Check your services too and see if this file is in there.

Usually this comes from Corel’s Word Perfect, and is basically like the same thing in Microsoft Office.

Check for Word Perfect on the laptop or Corel Products.

Well, I can’t find anything on it either.
If you are worried it is Spyware, then get Ad-Aware, the spyware cleaner:
