Got the “Windows can’t find PS-2 mouse” warning. Continued to open and found out I can only get garbled ink stains from my HP IIP antique. Tried looking for virus (nothing); checking windows settings (ports OK); deleting ports, mouse & printer then re-booting (it found ports but no mouse or printer); ran AMIDIAG 6.0 (says everything is AOK); re-installed Win98se (no change); checked mouse & printer on another machine (both work fine); booted to DOS floppy and tried to print ascii file (same garbled mess); checked cables (seem fine);checked BIOS settings (all are normal). The machine works fine except for this, but I’m getting sick of navigating with the Tab key and moving my printing to another machine via floppy. Anything else I can try, or should I just replace the mainboard (which means also a new CPU, RAM, video, etc.$$$$$$). Thanks
