Decrypting passphrase

By illiterate_me ·
I've this file which is encrypted using PGP and it's a passphrase. I need to access this file badly but I forgot what the passphrase is. Is there any way I can decrypt the file (e.g. is there any service to decrypt passphrase, or software). Pls help or if possible, pls suggest any websites where I can download a shareware/freeware to help me encrypt the file.

PGP uses real encryption. And depending on the version, it is most likly a 1024 bit encryption. The government may have a computer big enough to do it for you. Or you maybe able to rent some super computer time, but for the average person, forget it.

PGP is actually VERY Good Privacy - if you can't remember the passphrase, then I'm afraid you're screwed.

I agree with both the previous answers and would add... If it was easy to decrypt the file why bother using encryption?? PGP is there to do just that.. make it impossible to read without a LOT of effort.
