Dedicated VPN with AD

By ITAdmin89 ·
A current project i am working on is a migration from a Workgroup to a Domain. With that being said, will having a dedicated VPN to all remote sites still need a DC at each site? I plan on installing one backup DC if a one is not needed at each remote site.

Thanks for the help!

The way we have our remote sites set up

by Darryl~ Moderator In reply to Dedicated VPN with AD

is by setting the VPN connection to a router at the remote sites. We assign IP's to the routers like 192.168.1.1, 192.168.2.1, 198.168.3.1, etc for each remote site & the workstations at the remote sites fall under the designated subnet. We manage access to the network via the VPN through the routers....it seems to work well for us.....we even have wireless connections to a couple of the routers.
