Default Gateway

By cherie66 ·
I REALLY hope someone can help me. My internet decided aubuptly to stop working.
i have a signal, but it keeps telling me that i have limited or no conectivity.
i also discovered that i have no default gateway which in turn leaves me with no DNS sever or WINS sever (i dont know if that means anything or not...).
i have tried everything that i possibly could (including being on the phone for FOUR HOURS with my internet providers support) but still nothing. my computer uses d-link wireless router as well (i dont know if that will be of help). Everything seems to be working there is a connection..actually im on my roommates laptop typing this so CLEARLY the internet is working just not wanting to work on my computer. if ANYone can help me that would be beyond fantatsic. Any tips, pointers etc would great.

The starting point could be to compare your computer settings with roommates laptop settings by using ipconfig -all. Default gateway must be IP router address (a private address like 192.168.x.x. If you use a wireless LAN, you must know network SSID, encryption, network type=infrastructure.
