I have scheduled a defragmentation job to run every week on my Windows Server 2003.
The lowest file fragmentation I can get is 33%. When I look at the report of files that did not get defragmented, they are all apparently associated with system files related to restore states.
These files are hugely fragmeneted, and I believe this is having an adverse effect on the performance of the server.
Is there a way these files can be reorganized or have the old ones deleted? It seems that I am not even able to access the directories that contain these files.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
