I’m trying to find a way to create a software package for off-site employees. Off-site employees have Power Users rights. Off-site employees remotely connect via VPN on a near daily basis. We would like to avoid using Advertised Programs with the data source stored on a server, as the time to download and install over the VPN is prohibitive. We can send them a DVD with the needed files, but don’t want to remote in to then install them. I’m not sure if you can use a DVD-rom as the source files for an SMS package or not. I was also thinking about creating a script or batch file that elevated rights for installation, but I’m very new to scripting. Any thoughts would be helpful.
