Design Question

By Rosstamon ·
I'm looking for an inexpensive piece of software for designing my property around my home.
I want to take a picture (or a couple of pictures) of my house and the surrounding property. Then using the software I would like to be able to add various options of trees, plants, pavers, fixtures etc. Not so much structural changes to the house. More like additions and changes to the surrounding property.
Would appreciate any help.

Any graphics program can do this. Photoshop, or Paint Shop Pro (cheaper) could.

I would recommend any of the cheaper programs from Punch, perhaps "Master Landscape & Home Design", with a MSRP of around $69. Check it out at http://www.punchsoftware.com/masterland.htm
They also have cheaper and (of course) more expensive ones. But overall they are very good, you can input your own photos & graphics and so on. My wife uses the Punch Professional Home Design suite for her Interior Design college course, which is how I came across it. Usually you can buy them discounted at Office Depot or your local Discount store (Cosco, Sam's Club etc)

I agree with answer 2. Go to their site:

http://www.punchsoftware.com/index.htm

(remove any spaces in the above line after you copy and paste the url)

They have several versions that you can do wonders with. One of them even lets you see what trees and srubs will look like after they grow for a while.

Good Luck Lee
