Design Vlan on a workgroup based LAN

By siddharthalochan ·
I have 150 pcs and 5 servers all secured by Cisco PIX and sharing 1 MBPS leased line.We have 2 Cisco 2600 series Routers and 5 2950 CatSwitchs and 1 2970 series with all 1000mbps ports. 2 servers are dedicated for downloading/uploading 1 is mail server and another is running as proxy server. All servers are connected to 2970 and its connected to 2600 and Pix 506.I am told to design Vlan for various high bandwidth demanding pcs & servers and general nodes without changing ip structure of network. We are using 192.168.165.1 to 254 all in sequence for all pcs and servers. Please help me on this issue.
Thanks
Sid

Hi Siddarth

First of all to design the VLANs plan out the things carefully

Since ur having Cisco Swicthes its much easier to design, first of all decide how many vlans u want, but once u create vlans u have to use differnt subnet for each vlan. So first decide how may vlans u want and u can get lot of details for configing vlans from www.cisco.com

Cheers,

Yasir
